Allergies in Children, the sooner you find out the better chances of prevention
“Allergies”, the most popular disease of today, especially in children. There are two main factors in determining the cause of allergies, firstly, genetics, and second is the environment, such as pollution or food that can cause an allergic reaction.
How to notice the symptoms of allergy
- Skin allergy – dryness of the skin, redness or rashes on the face or between the elbows and knees that occur on and off.
- Food allergy – rashes on the skin, bloody diarrhea, chronic diarrhea, difficulty breathing and asthma.
- Respiratory allergy – stuffy nose, itchy nose and eyes, runny nose, excessive sneezing, asthma, nighttime coughing, wheezing noises while breathing, especially during changes in weather.
Prevention – can be done at very beginning at the expectancy stage, where the parent is advised to take food that is nutritious and sufficient in all 5 main groups in the right amount. When the child is born, priority should be given to breast milk for the first 6 months until slowly introducing low risk foods such as rice, vegetables, fruits, chicken pork, and fish every few days while noticing the symptoms of allergy to be able to react and see the physician promptly.
