The most common injury in elderly is due to falling. It is because of the body’s degeneration that causes balance problems and osteoporosis. Hence, falls in elderly cause major injuries, such as bone fracture, especially hip fracture because it is the area that can be impinged directly.

Signs & Symptoms of Hip Fracture include:

  • Severe pain in the hip.
  • Inability to stand up or put weight on the legs.
  • Cold toes because of decreased of blood circulation.
  • Bruising and swelling around the hip.

Hip Fracture Requires Urgent Surgical Treatment

Hip fracture requires urgent surgical treatment within 24 hours in order to prevent the long-term complications such as paralysis, pressure ulcer, Venous Thrombosis, and Cystitis. If left untreated, it might get more severe and cause death.
