Patient’s Story: Successful Recovery of Gait Instability

Ms. May has been suffering from brain anoxia for several months. She developed the condition during general anaesthesia when she underwent lipoma excision last year. This has made a major impact on living her everyday life. The symptoms that she had were imbalance gait that leads to difficulty walking and lack of strength in her hands.

Ms. May was receiving physiotherapies for over 6-7 months in her country, unfortunately there wasn’t much of an improvement that she noticed. Being a traditional dancer in Myanmar, with difficulties in physical movements, she decided to look for alternative places in hoping for a treatment that would improve her symptoms. When she learned about Vejthani Hospital from her peer group, she didn’t hesitate to make an appointment with specialists at the hospital.

She received intensive rehabilitation program upon recommendation from Dr. Tachipat Sareearino, specialized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. With strong determination, she has done several sessions of the program and her symptoms have significantly improved.
