Treating Rheumatic Aortic Valve Disease with Non-Surgical Approach

Share:

Seventy-one-year-old Mr. Sein Mynt arrived at Vejthani Hospital experiencing debilitating fatigue, even with simple tasks like walking and talking. After an investigation, he was diagnosed with aortic stenosis. Complicating matters, Mr. Sein was also found to have bronchitis, making traditional open-heart surgery a high-risk option.

Dr. Anuruck Jeamanukoolkit, an interventional cardiologist at Vejthani, recommended Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) as a less invasive alternative to open-heart surgery. The procedure successfully replaced Mr. Sein’s damaged aortic valve, resulting in significantly reduced blood loss and a remarkably swift recovery.

TAVI offers numerous advantages, including significantly shortening recovery time, reducing post-operative pain, and lowering the risk of complications. This innovative treatment enabled Mr. Sein to regain his quality of life and resume his daily tasks with renewed energy.
