Colorectal cancer

A lot of people might misunderstand that blood in the stool is only a sign of hemorrhoid so they ignore it, but the truth is, blood in the stool is also a sign of colorectal cancer.

Colorectal cancer doesn’t always have a symptom especially in its early stage. However, if there are any symptoms, the following can be include:

  • Changes in the excretory system
  • Diarrhea alternate with constipation
  • The size of the stool has decreased
  • Blood in the stool
  • Exhaustion and Weight loss

The reason why colorectal cancer patient has blood in the stool is that the solid stool scratches the polyps or cancer tumor in the colon  which causes rectal bleeding or blood in the stool.

Therefore, if you have blood in the stool, you need to observe your symptom and take care of yourself. If it doesn’t get better within 1 – 2 weeks, you should seek medical advice, receive a diagnosis, and undergo the colorectal cancer screening to confirm if it is colorectal cancer or not; because the symptoms of hemorrhoid and colorectal cancer are so similar.
